Hi, I’m Olivia.
Therapy can be intimidating. You are here and that is the first step. I am excited to share a bit about myself & my work.
I grew up in south coast Massachusetts where I was encouraged to get curious about my emotions, dreams and the world around me. I attended my undergraduate career in Fairfield, Connecticut. During this time, I was a division one swimmer. This experience was one of many that peaked my interest & understanding of healing through mind + body connection.
A New England girl at heart, I always had the desire to live in New York City. The energy and freedom of New York City is where I felt I belong. I fulfilled my dream of moving to the city for my graduate program at NYU Silver School of Social work about 6 years ago. I have been in love ever since.
After I graduated, I worked as a school social worker. This allowed me to explore healing through the art of play. In a world where so much is expected of us, therapy can be place to engage with our playfulness & the importance of healing through laughter ( laughing in therapy?! Sounds crazy, I know but you can trust me on this).
I loved my time as a school social worker but deep down I knew there was something calling my name. That is when I began my journey as a psychotherapist working in women’s healthcare. For the last several years, I have been lucky enough to work with women who are curious about themselves- past, present and future.
I believe in working as a team. My approach is psychodynamic with a strong focus on conversational shame-based treatment, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness.
